Trostprojekt ArToll

With a tabula rasa, a clean slate, the Trost project in ArToll started on September 7. Since then we have been working ‘vor Ort’ with 11 artists, looking for the meaning that consolation can have in visual art. Has it become a dusty theme, or is it more topical than ever? Participating artists are Rita Beckmann, Klaus Boegel, Carla Gottwein, Setsuko Fukushima, Iris Hoppe, Gudrun Kattke, Viola Michely, Niki Murphy, Johannes Reßmüller, Elaine Vis. I am participating in this project as artist too.

The final presentation opens on September 21 at 4 p.m., which will also be shown on Sunday 22, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September from 2-5 p.m.

On Sunday, September 22, the film ‘Lievalleen’ by Peter Wawerzinek will be shown in the Tichelpark Cinemas in Kleve.

On Wednesday, September 25, Jean-Pierre Wils will read from his book “Warum wir Trost brauchen”, at Theater mini-art, in Bedburg-Hau.

The theme ‘Trost’ is close to my heart. A nice to the point description of consolation is that the person consolated does not feel alone and/or abandoned. Loneliness, abandonment, but also the urge to bridge the distance that separates us; important themes in my work that made me not want to miss out on participating in this special project 🙂

You’re very welcome!

      1. BELACHELIJK. Dat met al die data er niet één passend te krijgen is. September is de drukste (kunst)maand, jammer dat ik het niet even kon zien. Tot snel.
