A new Human Landscape will be part of the group-show Lucas Gassel Revisited at De Cacaofabriek in Helmond (NL). Lucas Gassel was a 16th century painter from Helmond, who gained fame in Antwerp. He was the first painter in the Lowlands – the Netherlands and Belgium where still together at that time – to give the landscape itself a central position in his paintings. At Museum Helmond ( March 10- June 7) there will be a huge retrospective of Gassels paintings. Lucas Gassel revisited will show work by contemporary artists reacting on Lucas Gassel’s work.
